
New York's home for Indian classical music education and performance
Founded in 1984 by tabla maestro Samir Chatterjee, Chhandayan is a NYC-based non-profit promoting and preserving Indian classical music. The organization offers instruction in the traditional guru-shishya parampara, teaching Tabla, Vocal, Sitar, Violin, Bharatanatyam, and Kathak to 250-300 students across NY, NJ, MD, PA, and FL. Famous for its annual All-Night Concerts since 1999, Chhandayan also organizes regular concerts, pre-concert lectures, and workshops.
