Atri Kotal

Atri Kotal is a Kolkata-born Hindustani classical vocalist specializing in khayal and ghazals. Her musical journey began at age 11 under her mother, Smt. Ratna Kotal, and was nurtured by gurus including Vidushi Mandira Lahiri, the late Pandit Biresh Roy, Ustad Jainul Abedin and Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty; she continues advanced training under Shri Deborshee Bhattacharjee. An alumna of the University of Calcutta with a Masters in Economics, she worked as a business analyst at Tata Consultancy Services before dedicating herself to music in 2014. A National Scholar in Khayal from the Ministry of Culture and a graded All India Radio artist, she has performed at the Dover Lane Music Conference and other prestigious venues, and teaches students across India, the USA, Australia, England and South Africa.
