Biography

Pratik was initiated into the art of playing the Sarod at the age of six by his grandfather Pandit Rabi Chakraborty, himself an eminent Sarod player of the "Maihar Gharana", and nurtured the art form under the tutelage of his uncle Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty ever since.

Pratik's journey started in the year of 2000 at the International Children's Festival in Amman (Jordan), at the age of 13. Since then he has been travelling across countries to present solo Sarod recitals in the field of Hindustani Classical music.

Pratik's talent is a reflection of hard work, sincerity, dedication and unadulterated guidance from his family.
