Kaushiki Chakraborty

Kaushiki Chakraborty is a celebrated Hindustani vocalist of the Patiala gharana, born in Kolkata on October 24, 1980. A Ganda Bandh disciple of Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, she began musical training at age two under her mother Smt. Chandana Chakraborty and received advanced guidance from her father, the legendary Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. Renowned for Khyal, Thumri, Dadra, and Bhajan, she has performed at major festivals worldwide. She received the BBC Radio 3 World Music Award in 2005, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar in 2010, and the Aditya Birla Kalakiran Puraskar in 2013. She also founded the all-women classical ensemble Sakhi in 2015.
