Kaushiki Chakraborty
View ProfileKaushiki Chakraborty is a celebrated Hindustani vocalist of the Patiala gharana, renowned for Khyal, Thumri, and Dadra. A Ganda Bandh disciple of Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh, she also trained under her father, the legendary vocalist Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. She won the BBC Radio 3 World Music Award in 2005.

Hindustani vocalist Kaushiki Chakraborty performs in Birmingham, Michigan, accompanied by Ojas Adhiya, Kedar Naphade and Sohail Yusuf Khan.
Chakraborty, of the Patiala gharana, sings khyal and semi-classical repertoire with English narration introducing each piece. Ojas Adhiya accompanies on tabla, Kedar Naphade on harmonium and Sohail Yusuf Khan on sarangi. Para Share Entertainments presents the concert, one of eight US dates on the Pure Indian Classical tour.
