About

Symphony Space is a performing arts center on the Upper West Side offering programs in theatre, film, literature, music, dance, and family entertainment. Founded in 1978 when Isaiah Sheffer and Allan Miller rented the historic 1918 theater for Wall to Wall Bach, a free 12-hour music festival that became a permanent venue. The Peter Jay Sharp Theatre underwent a $13 million renovation. Symphony Space regularly hosts Indian classical music as part of its world music programming.
