Partho Sarathy

Sarod player born in Kolkata in 1960. He began training at eight with his father Sudhamoy Chowdhury, studied for nearly a decade under Ustad Dhyanesh Khan, and was accepted as a disciple by Pandit Ravi Shankar in 1980. He also spelled his name Partho Sarothy.
