Biography

Krishnarao Shankar Pandit (1893–1989) was a leading vocalist of the Gwalior gharana, known for his mastery of Khayal, Tappa, and Tarana. Son and disciple of Shankarrao Pandit, he founded the Shankar Gandharva Mahavidyalaya in 1914. He received the Padma Bhushan (1973) and Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (1959).
