Biography

Annapurna Devi was an Indian surbahar player of Hindustani classical music, known for her reclusive nature and dedication to teaching. As the daughter and disciple of the legendary Allauddin Khan, she was a key figure in the Maihar gharana and mentored many prominent musicians, preserving and passing on the intricate 'beenkari' style of the surbahar.
