Aishwarya Shankar

Aishwarya Shankar is a Carnatic vocalist and senior disciple of Guru Suguna Varadachari. Born and raised in Kolkata, she began her musical training at age four under Smt. Indira Ranganathan. When her family shifted to Chennai in 2008, she came under the tutelage of Vidushi Suguna Varadachari. An A-grade artist with All India Radio Chennai, Aishwarya has an impressive competitive record: nine prizes out of ten events at Mylapore Fine Arts Club (2008), twelve of fourteen at Narada Gana Sabha, and twenty-one out of twenty-two at the Music Academy competitions (2009). Her awards include Isai Peroli 2024 from Karthik Fine Arts, Yuva Kalakaar Puraskar from Shanmukhananda Sabha Mumbai, Kala Ratna from Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, and Best Vocalist from The Madras Music Academy. She holds an M.A. in Indian Music and a Government of India scholarship for advanced music training. Aishwarya also trained in Bharatanatyam for fourteen years and runs Sunaadalahari, a charitable organization nurturing over ninety students through concerts, workshops, and masterclasses.
