Aashish Khan (5 December 1939 - 14 November 2024) was an Indian classical musician and sarod player of the Maihar gharana. Born in Maihar, Bundelkhand Agency, British India, he was the eldest son of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. He began training at age five under his grandfather, the legendary Baba Allauddin Khan, and later studied under his father and aunt Annapurna Devi. He was Grammy-nominated in 2006 for Best Traditional World Music Album. Khan pioneered Indo-Western fusion music, notably collaborating with George Harrison and The Beatles. He was active across genres including Indian classical music, pop, and disco, and served as both a performer and educator throughout his career spanning from 1970 to 2024. He passed away in Los Angeles, California at the age of 84.
