Silambam Houston is Houston's premiere Indian arts organization that promotes Indian classical dance and music traditions through education, performances, and community outreach. The organization operates an arts academy offering classes in multiple Indian classical dance forms including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Odissi, and Mohiniattam, as well as Carnatic and Hindustani music. They present professional performances, run youth programs, and work to build multicultural audiences while preserving these ancient art forms for future generations.
Founded by Dr. Lavanya Rajagopalan in 2002
