Before the release of his forthcoming album, Oru Murai, acclaimed vocalist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Rohith Jayaraman invites audiences to an intimate evening of original music and storytelling. Through live acoustic performances and personal reflections, discover how a classically trained Carnatic musician found his voice as a Tamil singer-songwriter, blending Indian musical traditions with jazz, neo-soul, progressive music, and contemporary songwriting. Featuring songs inspired by journal entries, unfinished poems, and years of artistic exploration, this one-night-only performance offers a rare opportunity to experience these deeply personal works before the album's official release in 2027. Born and raised in San Jose, California, Rohith Jayaraman trained in Carnatic music under his mother and guru, Asha Ramesh, a disciple of the legendary D.K. Jayaraman. His musical journey has taken him across genres, collaborating with artists in jazz, Arabic music, metal, folk, electronica, contemporary dance, and more. Rohith has performed with internationally acclaimed artists including Zakir Hussain, L. Shankar, John McLaughlin, Akram Khan, A.R. Rahman, Tigran Hamasyan, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Ranjit Barot. He is also a vocalist, composer, and percussionist with the GRAMMY-nominated Berklee Indian Ensemble, and has worked as a playback singer across multiple Indian film industries.
