Niladri Kumar: The Space Between the Notes (Austin)

Sitarist Niladri Kumar performs in Austin, accompanied by Satyajit Talwalkar, Sambit Chatterjee and Agnelo Fernandes.

The concert draws on a live album Kumar recorded in Mumbai with tabla player Zakir Hussain shortly before Hussain's death; the tour is conceived as a tribute to that partnership. Kumar plays sitar and the zitar, a five-string electric instrument of his own design, with Talwalkar on tabla, Chatterjee on drums and Fernandes on keyboards.
