Biography

Trichy Sankaran is a legendary Carnatic mridangam maestro, composer, scholar, and educator born in Thiruchirapalli in 1942. A star disciple of Palani Subramania Pillai, he has performed with all the foremost Carnatic musicians and received the Sangeetha Kalanidhi in 2011. He is a professor of music at York University, Toronto.
