Biography

Suchismita Chatterjee is a distinguished Hindustani classical flautist, internationally recognized as one half of The Flute Sisters. Born in Allahabad into a musical family, she trained under the late Pandit Bholanath Prasanna before studying with Padmavibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia of the Maihar-Senia gharana. She holds certifications from the Rotterdam Conservatory and degrees from Prayag Sangeet Samiti (gold medal in flute). She has performed at the Dover Lane Music Conference, Savai Gandharva Festival, Saptak Music Festival, and on international stages across the US, UK, Europe, and Asia. A graded artist of All India Radio and recipient of the Sur Mani title and Rashtriya Pandit Kumar Gandharva Samman, Suchismita represents a living link in the classical tradition.
