Sowmiya Narayanan

Sowmiya Narayanan is a Carnatic ghatam percussionist who trained under Mridangam Maestro Trichy Sri Harikumar and Ghatam Sri Krishnaswami. He has performed as an accompanist with numerous prominent Carnatic musicians, including Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, Dr. K.J. Yesudas, and Smt. Sudha Ragunathan, among others. Beyond performance, Narayanan serves on the board of trustees for Sankara Nethralaya, and has coordinated over 650 online concerts that generated more than $1.5 million in donations over 2.5 years, enabling approximately 15,000 free cataract surgeries for underprivileged patients.
