Biography

Snigdha Chakravarti is an emerging Hindustani classical vocalist based in Buffalo, New York. She began her musical journey at the age of five under the guidance of Smt. Mamta Bhargava. She subsequently became a disciple of Pandit Dr. Nagaraj Rao Havaldar, a leading Hindustani classical vocalist from Bangalore, India, who is an exponent of the Kirana Gharana. Under Panditji's mentorship, Snigdha has deepened her passion for music and developed a nuanced understanding of the art form.

In the summer of 2023, she was given the opportunity to deliver a lecture-demonstration on Hindustani Raags at the Hindu Heritage Summer Camp in Rochester, NY. That same year, she won first place in the Dasavani Singing Competition held by the Purandara Arts and Cultural Association in Toronto. In 2025, she gave her debut concert at the University at Buffalo, Center for the Arts, performing a programme of Hindustani classical music including Khayal and Bhajan.

Snigdha also plays Western classical violin and is a student at Williamsville East High School in Buffalo, NY, where she contributes to the school's music department. She has been featured at the Chhandayan Center for Indian Music in New York City, one of the premier venues for Indian classical music in North America.
