Biography

Shrikrishna Narayan Ratanjankar (1899-1974) was a distinguished scholar, musicologist, and teacher of Hindustani classical music from the Agra gharana. A foremost disciple of both Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande and Faiyaz Khan, he served as the principal of Bhatkhande Music Institute in Lucknow, where he trained many notable musicians. Ratanjankar was also a respected vocalist in the Dhrupad and Khayal styles and a composer with over 800 compositions to his name under the pen name 'Sujan'.
