Sandip Bhattacharjee

Born on September 10, 1980, in Krishnanagar, West Bengal, Sandip Bhattacharjee received his initial musical training from his mother Smt. Krishna Bhattacharjee and later from Smt. Amita Dasgupta. Recognized for his exceptional talent at age 16, he was brought to the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, joining as a residential scholar in 2003 and becoming an acknowledged musician in 2013. Under the guidance of Ustad Mashkoor Ali Khan and Ustad Mubarak Ali Khan — sons and disciples of Padmashree Ustad Shakoor Khan — he was nurtured in the Kirana Gharana tradition. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music from Rabindra Bharati University (First Class First) and is an 'A' Grade artist on All India Radio and Doordarshan. Awards include the Sur Mani title (Sur Singer Samsad, Mumbai, 2005), the Ustad Faiyyaz Ahmed Khan Memorial Award (2017), and the Bharat Dignity Award (2022). His repertoire encompasses Khayal, Thumri, Bhajan, Ghazal, Nazrulgeeti, and Rabindra Sangeet.
