Biography
Samta Prasad (1921-1994), also known as Gudai Maharaj, was a renowned Indian classical musician and tabla player from the Benares gharana. A highly sought-after accompanist and soloist, he also played in several Hindi films. A recipient of the Padma Bhushan, he is remembered for his significant contributions to the world of Indian classical music.
