Biography

Samarth Nagarkar is a Khayal musician (Hindustani / North Indian classical voice music) - singer, educator and author, regarded as a flag-bearer of raga music globally. He trained rigorously under two respected masters—Ulhas Kashalkar and Dinkar Kaikini—through the traditional guru-shishya system, and studied as a scholar at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata. Through decades of intensive study and practice, he has achieved proficiency across three major gharanas: Gwalior, Agra, and Jaipur. Beyond performance, he directs Raga Sangeet Creative, co-founded Brooklyn Raga Massive, and lectures at institutions including NYU and Manhattan School of Music. He is the author of 'Raga Sangeet' and a voting Grammy member.
