His pioneering work, including the revolutionary "TRI-M Designer Mridangam," has set new standards in the field of mridangam playing. Patri has conceived innovative concepts like "GAJAANA," which integrates the 'Gathi', 'Jaathi', and 'Nadai' frameworks, and introduced a path-breaking blend of Hindustani and Carnatic percussion styles, adding a new dimension to Indian classical percussion that he calls "Tradition to Addition." His solos in rare talas like "Shanka Talam," "Senavathi Talam," and "Sankeerna Chapu" have garnered widespread acclaim.
