O.S. Arun

Kalaimamani Dr. O.S. Arun (born 1964) is a Carnatic vocalist from a musical family background, son of O.V. Subramaniam. He is an Alankar Purna of the Gandharva Vidyalaya and a Carnatic music diploma holder of Delhi University. Known for his mellifluous, sonorous voice that covers a wide range, his multi-dimensional accomplishments span Carnatic music, bhajans, fusion music, devotional music, composing, and playback singing. He has received prestigious awards including Brahma Gana Samrat by Brahma Gana Sabha Chennai, Best Vocalist by the Music Academy Chennai, and Kalaimamani by the Tamil Nadu Government. He founded the Alapana Foundation in 1998, focused on cultural exchange, music education, and exploring the role of music in well-being. Through initiatives such as Ratna Sangamam, his work includes outreach programs for underserved communities, senior citizens, and individuals with special needs.
