
N. Vijay Siva (born 29 March 1967) is one of the foremost Carnatic vocalists of his generation. He first exhibited a rare ability to identify ragas at age four, and began formal training under his mother Akhila Siva, a trained vocalist from Carnatic Music College, Chennai. He became a principal disciple of the legendary Sangita Kalanidhi D. K. Jayaraman and also received guidance from Sangita Kalanidhi D. K. Pattammal. An accomplished mridangist as well, he trained under Kumbakonam Rajappa Iyer. He has received over 100 awards, including the coveted Rajaji Tamboora from Tamil Isai Sangam (1981) and the Isai Peroli award (1995), and performs extensively across India, the USA, Canada, and Singapore.
