Biography

Dr. N. Rajam is a legendary Hindustani violinist celebrated for pioneering the Gayaki Ang (vocal style) on the violin. Born in 1938, she trained under her father A. Narayana Iyer and vocalist Omkarnath Thakur. A BHU professor for 40 years, she received the Padma Bhushan (2004) and Padma Vibhushan (2026).
