Biography

Munawar Ali Khan (1930-1989) was a distinguished Indian classical and light classical vocalist of the Kasur Patiala Gharana. As the son and disciple of the legendary Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, he carried forward his family's rich musical legacy. After his father's passing, he established himself as a respected solo performer, known for his full-throated voice and for popularizing ragas not commonly associated with his gharana.
