
Malini Taneja is a Los Angeles-based Bharatanatyam dancer trained under Padmashri Viji Prakash at the Shakti School of Bharata Natyam. She began training in her early teens and performed her solo debut (arangetram) in 2012. Taneja founded Rasa Varshini, a school of dance and devotional arts, and is known for her work in both classical Bharatanatyam and Indian folk dance forms including Kalbelia. She appeared as a dancer in Mythili Prakash's acclaimed production "She's Auspicious" and in "Mara," a fusion production at the Ford Theater in Hollywood combining live jazz and Carnatic music with Bharatanatyam and contemporary dance. She is also active in improvisational and devotional dance performance.
