K.S. Vishnudev

K.S. Vishnudev is a versatile Carnatic vocalist hailing from a family of music connoisseurs and an 'A' grade artist of All India Radio. He began his training at age nine under Smt. Alli Harivishnu and his aunt Smt. Kavitha Shibu. At twelve, he embarked on a decade-long tutelage under Sri Chandramana Narayanan Namboothiri, which laid a strong foundation and nurtured his manodharma. After moving to Chennai, he continued his musical education under senior musician Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan. From 2009 until the artist's passing in 2020, Vishnudev was privileged to receive mentorship from Padma Bhushan awardee Sri P.S. Narayanaswamy. He is a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from the Sangeet Natak Akademi (2022). Vishnudev composes and tunes kritis by contemporary composers, teaches students in India, the USA, and elsewhere, and has collaborated across genres including jugalbandis with Hindustani musicians.
