Kishan Hari Maharaj

Pandit Kishan Maharaj (1923 – 2008) was an Indian tabla player who belonged to the Benares gharana of Hindustani classical music. A versatile artist, he was known for his ability to play complex cross-rhythms and accompany a wide range of musicians and dancers. He was a recipient of the Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan, two of India's highest civilian honors.
