Kamal Sabri, born in 1974, represents the seventh generation of illustrious sarangi exponents belonging to the 400-year-old Senia gharana of Moradabad. He is one of four sons of Ustad Sabri Khan, a legendary sarangi maestro, and was initiated and trained by his father from the tender age of five. He has performed internationally in countries across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, and was the youngest Indian musician to participate in "Les 24 heures du raga" (the 24 hours Millennium concert) in Paris. He has collaborated with renowned musicians including Zakir Hussain, Jan Garbarek, and recorded for bands like Massive Attack and One Giant Leap, as well as for Hollywood and Bollywood films. He has won awards including 'The Best Instrumentalist' (2000), 'Surmani' (2001), 'Sangeet Bhushan Award' (2002), and has been appointed Professor of Practice at Swami Vivekanand Subharti University.
