Biography

Jessica Sitaramya is a native of Los Angeles who has been studying Bharatanatyam for over 20 years. She is a disciple of Viji Prakash and Mythili Prakash, and has trained under esteemed practitioners including K. Kalyanasundaram, Harikrishna Kalyanasundaram, Bragha Bessell, and Padmashree Malavika Sarukkai. She performed as captain of dance troupe UT Nritya Sangam at the University of Texas in Austin, where she competed at the national level and was awarded first place at four competitions. She has toured throughout the U.S., Singapore, and India. In March 2024, she presented a solo work, Spring, in collaboration with Seattle's API Chaya to raise funds for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. She currently performs in She's Auspicious, a Mythili Prakash production blurring the lines between Goddess and Woman, on tour in Chicago, Singapore, and London.
