Biography

Indira Kadambi is an acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer, and educator born on September 30, 1969, in Kundapur, Karnataka. She began her initial training at the age of six under Sri Janardhan Sharma and later trained under Smt. Usha Datar, performing her debut in 1988. She took advanced lessons in Abhinaya under Padma Bhushan Kalanidhi Narayanan, learned Mohiniattam under Kalyanikutty Amma, and studied Carnatic Vocal from Belakawadi Srinivasa Iyengar and Nattuvangam from Kamala Rani of Kalakshetra. An empanelled artist of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), she has performed at festivals across the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, and Malaysia. In 2011, she and her husband TV Ramprasadh launched eAmbalam, the world's first online college for Bharatanatyam, Carnatic music, and Indian percussions.
