Biography

Gourab Chatterjee began vocal training at age five under his mother, Smt. Ajanta Chatterjee, then studied under Shri Jainul Abedin and the late Pandit Sunil Bose of the Agra Gharana. He became a scholar at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, completing his studies in 2007 under Guru Pandit Arun Bhaduri. He has performed at major Indian music festivals and internationally across the US, Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, and Sri Lanka. Beyond performance, he is widely recognized as a skilled and sensitive harmonium accompanist to many of the most respected musicians of the Indian classical tradition, including Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty, Ustad Rashid Khan, Vidushi Girija Devi, Vidushi Shruti Sadolikar, and Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar. He also directs Philharmony, a music school teaching Hindustani classical music.
