Ganesh Vasudeva

Ganesh Vasudeva is a Bharatanatyam dancer, choreographer and researcher, and the artistic director of Bharata Dance Company. He began learning Bharatanatyam in India in 1986 at the age of ten under Guru Chandrashekhara Navada. After moving to California in 2003 he was taught and mentored by Guru Shreelata Suresh, and he has also studied under Guru Bragha Bessell of Chennai, one of the foremost authorities on abhinaya. He is on the artist roster of the Alliance for California Traditional Arts. His works have been presented in India, France, London and the United States, among them "A Thousand Years' Journey", a dance-theatre production built around the story of a thousand-year-old bronze Nataraja idol from Tamil Nadu.
