Biography

Ganesh Rajagopalan is an acclaimed Indian Carnatic classical violinist, composer, and educator born in Kanpur in 1964. A child prodigy trained from age three by his father and guru Sri T.S. Rajagopalan, he and his brother Kumaresh formed one of Indian classical music's most celebrated violin duos. He holds the A Top grade from All India Radio, was honored with the Kalaimamani Award (1997) and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award (2018), and won a Grammy Award in 2024 as a member of Shakti for the album "This Moment." Beyond classical performance, he has composed original ragas and scored films, and founded music schools in Portland and Seattle.
