Pt. Vidyadhar Vyas

Pandit Vidyadhar Vyas is a distinguished Hindustani classical vocalist representing the Gwalior gharana's Paluskar lineage, born in Nagpur on September 8, 1944. He received his foundational training from his father Gayanacharya Pandit Narayanrao Vyas, himself a direct disciple of Sangeet Maharshi Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskar. An influential educator and administrator, he has taught Hindustani music since 1964 and has held positions including Principal of the Government Music College Jaipur, Head of the Music Department at the University of Mumbai, and Executive Director of ITC Sangeet Research Academy. He received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2007, the Tansen Samman in 2019, and the Dr. Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur National Award in 2023.
