Dhananjay Hegde

Born in 1978 in Gunavante, Karnataka, Dhananjay Hegde was initiated into music by his mother Smt. Geeta Hegde. Since 1989, he has trained under Pt. Vinayak Torvi in the Gurukul tradition for over 14 years, absorbing the Kirana and Gwalior Gharana styles. He has performed at prestigious festivals including Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav (Pune), Tansen Samaroh (Gwalior), Swar Samrat Festival (Kolkata), Kesarbai Kerkar Sangeet Samaroh (Goa), and Saptak (Ahmedabad). He has also performed in the USA, Australia, Singapore, and Thailand. Awards include the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Pt. Basavaraj Rajguru Yuva Puraskar from the Government of Karnataka.
