Hindustani classical vocalist and composer
Devansh Zurale is a Hindustani classical vocalist and a disciple of Pandit Dr. Ram Deshpande. Deeply rooted in the tradition of khayal gaayki, he carries forward a rich musical lineage while cultivating his own distinct artistic voice.
He began his musical training at the age of ten under the guidance of his cousin, Priya Kurnurkar, and also briefly received guidance from Ajit Kadkade ji. For over two decades now, he has been under the tutelage of Pandit Dr. Ram Deshpande, shaping his vocal technique within the Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharanas.
Also a composer and keyboardist, Devansh is a versatile vocalist who performs across a range of genres, including semi-classical and contemporary styles such as Indian pop, and has also explored genres such as jazz. His debut single, "Raas Tori Na Bhayi," was recently released on streaming platforms.
Devansh has also pursued advanced academic work in music technology. He holds a Master's degree in Music Technology from Carnegie Mellon University and a PhD in Computer Music from the University of California, San Diego. He currently works as an Audio Research Scientist at Shure, where he explores the intersection of music, audio, and artificial intelligence.
