G. Chandrasekara Sharma

G. Chandrasekara Sharma, born on July 11, 1990, is a Carnatic ghatam artist and vocalist from an illustrious family of musicians. His grandfather T.R. Hari Hara Sharma was a mridangam and morsing artiste, his father T.H. Gurumurthy is a veteran violinist and disciple of Sangita Kalanidhi T.N. Krishnan, and his uncle is the legendary ghatam vidwan T.H. Vikku Vinayakram. He initially learned ghatam from his uncle T.H. Subash Chandran and has been a B-grade artist at All India Radio since 2008. He received the BalaKalaratna award from Bala Kalasagaram Trust in 2009 and the T.R. Harihara Sharma Award for Ghatam at Krishna Gana Sabha in 2004. He is also a professional vocalist and disciple of Sri Vijay Siva and Sri R.K. Shriramkumar. He holds a graduate degree in Commerce from the University of Madras.
