Biography

Carnatica Brothers is the Carnatic vocal duo of K.N. Shashikiran and P. Ganesh, cousins who are grandsons of the legendary Gottuvadhyam Narayana Iyengar. They stormed the Carnatic music world as child prodigies at the age of two, stunning music lovers by identifying complex talas and ragas. With intense training under Shashikiran's father Chitravina Narasimhan, Chitravina Ravikiran, Sangitha Kalanidhi T. Brinda, T. Vishwanathan, Calcutta K.S. Krishnamurthy, and Dr. M. Balamuralikrishna, the cousins have emerged as front-ranking musicians. They have performed over 4,500 concerts across India, the US, UK, and Australia. In 2006, they performed a marathon 24-hour concert without a single break. Shashikiran founded Carnatica in 1998, created the music learning app Musiguru, and launched the 24-hour online Carnatic music radio The Carnatica Channel. He received the prestigious Kalaimamani award from the Tamil Nadu state government.
