Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi

Bhimsen Joshi was one of the greatest Indian vocalists in the Hindustani classical tradition. He is known for the khayal form of singing, as well as for his popular renditions of devotional music (bhajans and abhangs). A member of the Kirana gharana, he was a purist who did not experiment with music, with the exception of a few jugalbandi recordings.
