Abhishek Kale

Abhishek Kale is a Hindustani classical vocalist of the Kirana gharana and a "B" graded artist of All India Radio. He began learning Indian classical music at the age of five from his mother, Smt. Swati Kale, herself a prime disciple of Padma Vibhushan Vidushi Gangubai Hangal. He went on to train for eight years under the Kirana gharana vocalist Pandit Jayteerth Mevundi, and currently studies under Pandit Sharad Bapat of Sangli. He placed first in the All India Radio national competition and has been felicitated by the Gangubai Hangal Foundation in Hubli, Karnataka. He holds a B.A. in History from Mumbai University.
