Padma Bhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty is a legendary Hindustani classical vocalist and leading exponent of the Patiala-Kasur gharana. He trained under Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh and Ustad Munawar Ali Khan. Founder of Shrutinandan music school, he became the first scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy in 1978 and now serves as one of its youngest gurus.

Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty is widely considered a legend in Indian Classical Music. Although a scion and doyen of the Patiala-Kasur Gharana (style), primarily representing Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahib's gayaki, his vocals also portray features of other major classical gharanas of North India, even Carnatic music of South India. He has been awarded the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan awards by the Government of India.
